Building Software, Playing Again
Rediscovering the joy of coding with LLMs. Less grind, more flow, and moments where it feels like art.
I’ve rediscovered my love for building software. For a while, coding felt like a grind with endless frameworks and layers stacked on top of each other, even for something as simple as a CRUD. It was hard to tell if the work was really that complex, or if we had just made it complicated.
With LLMs as companions, that weight is lighter. The boring parts don’t get in the way as much, and I can focus more on the fun part: the flow. Writing code starts to feel less like wrestling with tools and more like arranging music with logic moving through files and layers like melodies through instruments. There’s structure, rhythm, and harmony in how it all connects.
I don’t see AI as replacing the craft, but as restoring the play and being instrumental in the crafting. It clears space for coding to be more than problem-solving. Sometimes it feels closer to art.
